“Dream Come True”

Coaches Against Cancer-“Dream Come True”

We need your help-we need to connect with families to see what opportunities are out there for us to consider what we can do to make a 2016 “Dream Come True”. We need to hear the stories of these families, and ideas to make their day a little better. Stories can be submitted on behalf of someone else, or submitted for their own family in need of a “Dream Come True”.

2014 Dreams Come True

Volunteers with Coaches Against Cancer worked together recently to build a treehouse for Nathan, who was diagnosed with leukemia.

Among the recipients of a Dream Come True is Zachary Schroeder, an avid golfer fighting prostate cancer. The organization provided him with a foursome at Pebble Beach. Members of the foursome included, from left, his son Jason Schroeder, his brother Chris Schroeder, Zachary Schroeder (in wide-brimmed hat) and his son-in-law Dave.

Coaches Against Cancer used proceeds from their golf tournament to make a wish come true for former area football coach Myron Zaccheo, who has been battling pancreatic cancer for more than four years. The group put together a reunion of coaches who took Zaccheo and some of his family members to a 49ers game. Among those attending the game were, from left, Kevin Krail, Tim Lugo, MyronÕs son-in-law Chris Szarlacki, Myron Zaccheo, Mark Krail, Kyle Murdock, Eric Perry, Kevin Collins, Justin Stenger, Pioneer athletic director Joe Berticevich and MyronÕs bother Fred Zaccheo. Lugo (Saratoga), M. Krail (Los Gatos), Perry (Pioneer) and Collins (Lincoln) are all area head varsity football coaches. Murdock and Stenger both played for Zaccheo when he was the head coach at Pioneer.
